Ofsted said "Brickhill Lower School is providing a good standard of education for its pupils. This judgement matches the evaluation made by the school. Pupils enjoy coming to school, knowing that the headteacher and staff care about their welfare, helping them to achieve their potential. Parents agree with this view and have an overwhelmingly positive image of the school's work. " (November 2006) 
Year R Welcome to all those parents new and old with children in Year R. The Year R team consists of Miss Samantha Rhodes, Miss Sarah Farr(pictured above), Mrs Jinny Casey, Mrs Jean Breed, Mrs Linda Kirtley, Mrs Sunita Sahonte and Mrs Anna Noboa. Many of you took up the invitation to join your child in school for their first lunchtime and it was good to see how calm and settled the children were, we hope that you found it a reassuring and enjoyable experience. A member of the team is always on hand first thing in the morning if you need to relay any information or talk through any concerns. We aim to keep you well informed and Year R parents have their own newsletters throughout the year. If you would like to become involved in school as a classroom helper do speak to a member of staff to find out more.
Mrs Jayne Atherton joined us in January 2007 and teaches in Year 1 jobsharing with Mrs Forrest. Along with the rest of our teaching staff they will both be on hand to meet parents at the annual 'Meet the Teacher' evening on Tuesday 18th September at 7pm.
Continuing with our commitment to support parents, a 4 week course 'Helping your child with Maths' starts on Wednesday 26 September 9 -11am in the mobile classroom. We also hold half termly 'Drop-in' sessions with the School Nurse where parents can informally and confidentially seek advice on health, diet and behaviour issues. We also work with the Home/School/Family Worker to support children through family break-ups and other problems.
